Last week to meet County volunteer requirements!

If you're planning on showing at county, it is a requirement to volunteer at a DS Ag Boosters event in order to show at the Hays County Livestock Show this upcoming January and this weekend is the last opportunity for you to complete the requirement! The DS Ranch Park is hosting the SAXET gun show this weekend. Contact Stephanie Kirkey at (863) 447 - 6878 to set up your volunteer time!

Cold front and Fall Classic Ag barn shearing!

Attention to all students at the Ag barn! There is a cold front coming tomorrow night and the lows will get into the 20's. Make sure you plan for your animals accordingly and get covers and/or shaving for them. Additionally, don't forget too come up to the ag barn tomorrow after school if you need help shearing your animal for Fall Classic!

Upcoming county/major show entry meeting!

Reminder- the MANDATORY show entry meeting is next week on Tuesday, November 5th in the DSHS cafeteria for students who will be participating at the county show and/or the majors! If you plan on entering a major show, a parent must be present for signatures with a checkbook for payment. For those entering the county show- parents are not necessary, but payment by credit card is required. Please let us know if you have any questions.

FFA Leadership Development Event Showcase RSVP

For all interested parties, our FFA members will be performing a showcase of our fall leadership development event teams.  Come enjoy a nice catered dinner (italian food) and watch our students discuss and perform the various events they are competing in this semester.  This is a great opportunity to see an example of what our FFA chapter is all about and see our members hard work in action!

Please complete the attached the RSVP by October 18th - this will aid us in getting an accurate headcount for the meal!

Show Program Meeting Recap

To those who came out for the meeting last night, thank you! It was a great turn out with over 70 people in attendance.  We hope we were able to get you some good information to help you understand the program better and better guide you in this endeavor.

A couple of important items of note:
1. If you were late and did not sign in - please email me ASAP! (jordan.blount@dsisdtx.us)
2. Sheep/Goat/Swine students - please return your animal purchase sheets by Friday (Sept. 13) to Mr. Blount.
3. Please complete and return other necessary forms (swine validation tag orders, barn rules, ag barn access badge form, rabbit orders, broiler orders).

Please check the important dates and remember the next mandatory meeting will be on Nov. 5th - 5:30 PM in the HS Cafeteria.
